Easy Quilt and Curtains

For Cameron's 'Big Boy' room I made him a matching quilt and curtains. No pattern just a simple idea. Just remember for curtains cut the material about 1 1/2 times the length (from left to right) of the window. I made a twin sized quilt, which you want to be around 65" by 88". I used a larger than twin sized, brown, sheet for the backing, and cut it bigger than the front so I could wrap that around for the front border. I did stripes because I like the look. If that's what you do, you can use your machine to do the quilting lines by sewing along the seam of every few stripes. Then it blends right in. I safety pinned it everywhere before I quilted the front panel, batting, and backing together. That kept everything in place and kept it from bunching and pulling while sewing it. I also ironed down the border which made it easier to sew.
